From the hotel we drive for about an hour and a half to Seligman. Seligman is a small town on the Route 66. the Snow Cap Cafe and the Barber Shop are famous sights. The are a lot of tourists and souvenirs. We continue on Route 66 for about an hour and see almost no other travelers. The road is empty and for the most part straight as an arrow – all the way to the horizon. We stop in Hackberry. Angele is very interested in all the old cars in the backyard. She has to see each one of them. Half an hour later we stop in Kingman, where we have Lunch at a BBQ place.

Now we leave the Route 66 behind and continue towards Las Vegas. It’s starting to get really hot. 37, 38, 39 and finally even 43 degrees Celsius. Totally unbelievable. Eventually we make to the the border of Arizona and Nevada at the Hoover Dam. The kids are watching KUNG FU PANDA. The heat is unforgiving. From the Hoover Dam it’s only 40 minutes to the hotel.

After relaxing and refreshing we all meet again for a night tour. First we go to MON AMI GABI, a “French” restaurant in the Paris Hotel & Casino. The steaks and the wine are really good. After our romantic dinner we drive across to the Bellagio Hotel & Casino and watch the fountain show and enjoy the flower garden. We are getting very tire now but before we go back to the hotel Thomas takes us to the Venetian Hotel & Casino. What a cool place. We feel like in Disneyland for adults. We walk around the canals and stroll through the hotel. Now it’s almost 11 pm and it is really time to go to sleep.
