Today we had to wake up at around 5:30am because we had to catch an early flight to Las Vegas. We checked in and went thru security around 8:00am. After the short flight (only 1.5h) we arrive in Las Vegas. It is very hot, which is a nice change of pace, compared to the cold weather in San Francisco. For lunch we stop at Joe’s Pizza close to the airport. Then we stop at the famous sign “Welcome to fabulous Las Vegas” before driving towards Zion National Park.

Zion National Park

Just before we enter Zion we stop at Lin’s Market to more water and snacks. It is very hot and we have to drink a lot. In Zion Thomas takes us on a beautiful trail to the Emerald Pools. We are taking a few pictures at the upper pool and return to the bus. Before we leave the park we stop at two view point – The Window and The Checkerboard Mesa.

Zion Mountain Ranch

Tonight we are staying in cabins. Thomas finds a rattle snake only 2 meters away from his door. What a surprise.
